Cart and free shipping
Cart drawer or cart page
Theme settings > Cart > Cart type:
- Drawer (default). Adding to cart opens a slide-out cart over the page, so the shopper can keep browsing. It shows:
- the items, with quantity controls and remove buttons
- the free-shipping progress bar
- an optional order note (Cart drawer > Show order note)
- a "Pairs well with" suggestion
- the subtotal and the checkout button
- Page. Adding to cart goes to the cart page at
/cart.
The cart page is always available at /cart, whichever type you choose. It has the items, an order note, the subtotal and checkout. Without JavaScript, the bag icon and the add-to-cart button always use the cart page.
Free-shipping progress bar
The bar tells shoppers how far they are from free shipping, for example "You are $61.00 away from free shipping". It fills as they add items. Once they pass the threshold, it says "Your order ships free". Change the wording in Edit default theme content.
- Open Theme settings > Cart.
- In Free shipping threshold, enter the amount in cents:
25000for $250,9900for $99. - Save.
Enter 0 to turn the bar off. A new install starts at 0.
The bar only shows a message. It does not change shipping rates. Set up the matching free-shipping rate in Settings > Shipping and delivery (for example a free rate with a minimum order price of $250), or the bar will promise something checkout doesn't deliver.
The bar shows in the cart drawer. It compares the threshold with the cart subtotal after discounts, in your store's currency.
Order notes
Shoppers can leave a note with their order, for example delivery instructions. You see it on the order in the admin. Turn the note off in the drawer with Cart drawer > Show order note.
Accelerated checkout
Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal buttons appear on the product page (Buy buttons > Show accelerated checkout) when they are enabled in Settings > Payments.
"Pairs well with" in the cart drawer
The drawer suggests one complementary product for the first item in the bag, with an Add button. It uses the complementary products you set in Search & Discovery; see Filters and recommendations.
